Mr Deon Fabel

Mr Deon Fabel is a seasoned executive with a remarkable passion for market development and expansion.

His special skills and appetite for acquiring new business has resulted in a number of successes and achievements for the Bigen Group. He has been involved in numerous mega projects in the commercial, water, real estate and transportation sectors and, with over 30 years’ experience in infrastructure, is a specialist in strategic management. In his current role as Chief Operating Officer for the Bigen Group, he provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organisation and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. He holds directorship positions on the boards of various subsidiary-and affiliated companies and serve as Chairman on three of these Boards.

Highly competent in identifying and establishing new markets, Deon took up the baton as the Chief Operating Officer for the Bigen Group in 2017.

He has been a board member since 2007 and is also Group Human Capital Director responsible for the strategic delivery of long-term human capital value.

With over 30 years’ experience, Deon is a strategic management specialist and exceptionally proficient in developing and implementing business development strategies. His passion for new business development led the Group’s expansion into the Eastern and Western Cape in South Africa and secured substantial local shareholding to structure Bigen’s Namibian operations.

He has been involved in numerous mega projects in the commercial, water, housing and transport sectors. His extensive industry experience and leadership qualities have resulted in nominations to the boards of a number of subsidiary and affiliated companies. He serves as chairman of the board for three of these companies.
